“We expect to meet Minister of Civil Service Petra De Sutter next week,” Silvana Bossio of CSC Public Services told Belga.
The Christian and liberal unions had filed on December 22 a strike notice from January 14 and for an indefinite period. The organizations denounce the stagnation of negotiations on a sectoral agreement and increased pressure at work due to reduced staff.
Concretely, CSC and SLFP demand a revaluation of “salary scales” (remuneration, Editor’s note); a “full-fledged” 13th month and the introduction of meal vouchers for staff.
The socialist trade unionist, for his part, did not associate himself with the strike notice. The CGSP prefers to wait for the budgetary control scheduled for February before taking any action.
