This has echoed for a few days, QSI wants to sell part of the capital of PSG. If for a while it was just a rumor, the file is progressing well and a date is now known.
Since the takeover of PSG by Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) in 2011, the club from the capital has become one of the best teams in Europe and one of the most attractive clubs in the world. PSG has become a real luxury brand and has three of the most influential players on the planet with Messi, Neymar and Mbappé. Despite this notable success, QSI intends to sell part of the club. 10 to 15% of Paris Saint-Germain will be sold. With an estimated valuation of 3.2 billion euros according to Forbes magazine, QSI and PSG could receive several hundred million euros from this sale. According to information from the newspaper l’Équipe, Qatar even intends to sell this part of the club from the first half of 2023.
PSG sold in 2023?
The French media explains that despite this desire to sell a small part of the capital of PSG, the management of the club will remain intact. Even after the World Cup, QSI will continue to support PSG to win the Champions League. The Qataris are looking for an investor from the first half of 2023. If no name has yet been revealed, PSG have already started negotiations with American investment funds. Which is not trivial since the American billionaires are beginning to take a serious interest in European football. The recent sales of OL or Atalanta Bergamo in the United States confirm the hypotheses. Nasser Al-Khelaïfi had also recently confided that he had received an offer of 4 billion euros to sell PSG. It now remains to be seen who will accept the challenge of investing in the most ambitious club in Europe.
