The President also accepted the resignation of Uttarakhand Governor Baby Rani Maurya. In his place, now retired Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh has been given the responsibility of the Governor of the state.
Changes have also been made in the Governor of Punjab. Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit, holding additional charge, was appointed as the Governor of Punjab. After the new order, RN Ravi has been given the responsibility of Tamil Nadu as the Governor of Nagaland.
Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi has been given the additional charge of Governor of Nagaland. These changes were announced in a press release issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday night. One of the biggest changes in all these changes is the resignation of Uttarakhand Governor Baby Rani Maurya. It is believed that Baby Rani Maurya can contest the UP assembly elections.
