Popular Netflix horror should continue: Now the horror MCU could become a reality

The “Fear Street” movies only came out on Netflix last year. But work should already be done on further offshoots of the horror series.

With the “Fear Street” trilogy, Netflix adapted the author’s famous youth books RL Stine for home screens and kidnapped viewers three times into the dark realms of the horror genre. The film franchise is said to be about more offshoots grow, how Yahoo entertainment reported.

In July last year, Netflix released the films on a weekly basis “Fear Street Part 1: 1994”, “Fear Street Part 2: 1978” and “Fear Street Part 3: 1666”. Under the direction of Leigh Janiak, various actors were allowed to throw themselves into a bloodthirsty horror spectacle. The trilogy was denied the mega success hoped for by Netflix, but allegedly more “Fear Street” films are said to be on the streaming service’s to-do list. Because RL Stine revealed in an interview with Yahoo that there were rumors about further adaptations:

“I’ve been hearing rumors of more ‘Fear Street’ movies coming to Netflix because the last ones did so well this past summer. These films shocked me in a way because they were all R-rated and I’ve never done anything like that. All these teenagers were butchered. I was like, ‘All of a sudden I have a slasher movie.’”

Last year, Leigh Janiak also spoke in an interview with Coming soon explains that in the “Fear Street” brand they Horror franchise potential sees that in a way dem Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) resembles:

“One of the exciting things about ‘Fear Street’ is that the universe is big and there’s a lot of space. One of the things I talked about before I got hired was that we have the potential here to create a horror MCU where you can have slasher killers from many different eras. Our main mythology canon is based on the fact that the devil lives in Shadyside, so there’s room for everything else as well.”

With a total of 14 Fear Street books Netflix has more than enough templates for more movies. But before we can see one of the new “Fear Street” strips, numerous other horror highlights will appear. We present the most promising works of the year 2022 in our video:
