On Sunday afternoon, the Vlas police zone again sent a few combis to the street in which the home of Minister Vincent Van Quickenborne is located. There was a rumor that there would be a demonstration.

The Kortrijk police zone Vlas (Kortrijk-Kuurne-Lendelede) took the rumor seriously and sent a number of combinations to guard the street in which the minister lives. Minister of Justice Vincent Van Quickenborne (Open VLD) was targeted this time after the death of a police officer. A police union would have called for demonstrations in front of his home, it was said. That rumor turned out to be based on little, according to the Kortrijk police. But just to be sure, the minister’s home was kept under surveillance for a while.
