The Pegasus espionage case was heard in the Supreme Court on Monday where the central government refused to file an affidavit. Expressing displeasure over this stand of the government, the Supreme Court said that the matter of complaints of espionage by journalists and well-known people is serious, so the court wants to know whether the government has used any such medium which is illegal. On this hearing, Bollywood actor Kamal Rashid Khan (KRK) has targeted the Narendra Modi government.
In a tweet made on Monday from his official Twitter handle, he wrote, ‘The job of the devotees has gone in the interest of the country! The clothes of the devotees came off in the interest of the country! The poor devotee became a fakir in the interest of the country! Devotees are selling poor samosas and tea in the interest of the country! Now Pegasus espionage scandal is also in the interest of the country! You are doing amazing Modi ji! Your tricks have even surpassed the British!
In another tweet, KRK wrote, ‘Old time landlords did not allow poor to study so that people remain illiterate if they keep working in the fields for them. Sahab is also working on the exact same formula. So that people remain illiterate and they rule over them forever, play with their minds.
Retired IAS officer Surya Pratap Singh has also given his response on the Pegasus espionage case hearing in the court. He tweeted, ‘Today the stand of the government in the Supreme Court has become clear. Ordinary citizens have been spied illegally. It is a shame for any government to spy on its citizens to this level. We have to come forward, we have to protect democracy ourselves.
Congress leader Srinivas BV has also slammed the central government over the Pegasus hearing. He tweeted, ‘Modi government refuses to file affidavit on espionage case in Supreme Court. Modi ji will not show the paper?’
