Caitriona Balfe has revealed the reason she got frustrated on the set of Outlander.
Fans are eagerly awaiting: the sixth season of the series Outlander will be broadcast on March 6 and the 8 episodes promise to impress. Moreover, Claire and Jamie are displayed more intimate than ever in a new extract from the upcoming show, something to make viewers want to discover this season even more. Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe have played the main characters wonderfully for several years and their chemistry is well established. Very happy to be part of this great adventure, this does not prevent the 42-year-old actress from having some frustrations.
Indeed, the one who embodies Claire Fraser in Outlander said in a new interview for Vanity Fair that she had expressed her desire to direct an episode of the series. Unfortunately, the latter thinks that her request is a little “fell on deaf ears”. According to her, Caitriona Balfe was supposed to direct an episode in the sixth season of the show but it ultimately did not happen. Sorry, the actress admits: “It would have been the perfect opportunity for me to perform in a safe environment. I’m so close to our entire film crew (…) It’s a shame, but it’s not my responsibility “.[display-posts orderby="rand"]
Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan raised the tone
In this same interview, Caitriona Balfe shares her dismay at the lack of response to her and her co-star’s request in Outlander, Sam Heughan, to have more diversity on the set. The actress says in particular that she and her playing partner had discussed this with the team of the series two years ago without finally seeing any noticeable change. A problem she encountered again on the set of the film Belfast where she shares the poster with Jamie Dornan: “Scotland is a predominantly white place … so it is considered difficult to find these people. I am not sure that is necessarily true. I think there is a way to find people to do. to come”.
