The Outlander series, produced by Starz, will get a spin-off, which details have been revealed.
According to deadline, the prequel has been officially confirmed, and will be titled Blood of My Blood. The series is currently in development in the writers’ room.
Starz president of original programming Kathryn Busby revealed that the network is excited to explore more of the world of Outlander.
“Outlander is a fascinating series that, season after season, has captured the hearts of its fans around the world. We are excited to peel back the layers of this vibrant world to bring our audience back to the origin of where it all started,” she said.
“Matthew Roberts, Maril Davis and Ronald Moore will continue to bring their excellent vision and creativity to this new iteration, and we can’t wait to see what happens next.”
Story details are revealed
According to the website, the plot will follow the love story of Jamie Fraser’s parents, Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser.
With the full title Outlander: Blood of My Blood, Matthew B. Roberts serves as writer, showrunner and executive producer. Maril Davis and Ronald D. Moore will also serve as producers.
The series is currently in development, as is the seventh season of Outlander.
