Tonight, all eyes were on Los Angeles for the 95th Academy Awards. If the ceremony was marked by the coronation of the film “Everything Everywhere all at once”, several artists also won over the ears of the public. From Rihanna to Lady Gaga via Lenny Kravitz… a look back at these incredible musical performances that punctuated the 2023 Oscars ceremony.
THE Oscars, it is of course a story of cinema. But it’s also a matter of music. As every year, the famous ceremony rewarding the best films of the year was marked by several musical performance. For this 2023 edition, the Oscars struck a blow by inviting in particular Rihanna.
The artist from Barbados, who has already made the show at the beginning of February during the halftime of the Super Bowl, was present this night on the stage of the Dolby theater in Los Angeles to interpret the song “Lift Me Up“, the famous credits of the film “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever“.
Rihanna took advantage of this fine performance to pay tribute to Chadwick Boseman, the interpreter of Black Panther, who died on August 28, 2020 at the age of 43. In addition, the blockbuster signed Marvel left with a statuette, that of the best costumes.
Another notable live performance that night? That of Lady Gaga. While her participation in the Oscars had not been confirmed, the American singer finally took the stage to perform “hold my hand“, the title song of the film “Top Gun: Maverick“, rewarded for his part for his sound mixing.

Both nominated in the category of Best Original Song », Rihanna And Lady Gaga eventually left empty-handed. The statuette was handed over to Keeravani for the Indian film “RRR”. The German Netflix movie “In the west, nothing is new” meanwhile won the Oscar for ” Best Original Score “.
Finally, let’s not forget Lenny Kravitz. The American artist also caused a sensation last night in Los Angeles by paying a vibrant musical tribute to the personalities of the cinema world who died in 2022 by performing the title “Calling All Angels“.
