Next March 12 will be the 95th edition of the Oscars. These were the productions considered by the Hollywood Academy.
The wait is almost over: the next sunday march 12 will be the Oscars 2023. In this way, movie lovers will finally know who will be the big winners of this new installment. Among those considered are productions from all over the world, including Mexicans and Argentines. But… Are there Spaniards nominated?
The answer is blunt: in the 95th edition of the Oscars There are no Spanish films, directors, writers, actors or technicians considered among the categories. And, without a doubt, it is striking: at the last gala, Parallel Mothers by Pedro Almodóvar as Best Actress for the work of Penélope Cruz and Best Soundtrack, as well as windshield wipers by Alberto Mielgo won Best Animated Short Film.

Over the past year, expectations have grown for alcarràsthe movie of Carla Simon who won the Golden Bear in Berlin and who was running as one of the candidates for Best International Film at the Oscars 2023. However, failed to pass the so called “short list” with the 15 contemplated to enter the nominations.

For years, they have been noted for being peach growers who spend their summers picking fruit. However, a project to install solar panels and cut down trees turns this tight-knit group facing the possible loss of their home.
This is not the only nomination that Spain did not get at the 95th edition of the Oscars. Also, short films like The treatment by Alvaro Carmona, we vote by Santiago Requejo, Plastic Killer by Josep Pozo and tulla by Beatriz de Silva, they fell by the wayside and did not obtain their expected consideration.
