Order to close Delhi’s Gurdwara Bangla Sahib, action on non-compliance of Corona rules; Sikh Management Committee raged on the officer

After getting relief amid warnings of third wave, now the rules are being broken. A similar case has come to light from New Delhi. Regional SDM Geeta Grover has ordered the closure of the Gurudwara for violating the rules in Gurudwara Bangla Sahib located in the New Delhi area. On the other hand, outgoing chairman of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee Manjinder Singh Sirsa has demanded action against the officials concerned.

The Chanakyapuri Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of New Delhi district has issued this order on 16 September. The orders said that a report found that the management of Bangla Sahib Gurdwara has violated the instructions of DDMA and allowed visitors, Ardas inside the Gurdwara. Based on this violation, the Bangla Sahib Gurdwara has been asked to be closed for visitors with immediate effect.

The orders stated that the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) had earlier ordered the reopening of religious places, but did not allow the entry of visitors to prevent the spread of corona infection.

The decision to stop has been taken in view of the warnings of infection. Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader and outgoing chief of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DSGMC) Manjinder Singh Sirsa has expressed displeasure over the order of Chanakyapuri SDM.

He demanded action against the district officials from Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in this matter. In a video message, Sirsa said that the order passed by SDM Chanakyapuri to shut down Gurdwara Sribangla Sahib on charges of corona violation is a trivial action. We condemn this sick mentality of Delhi government.

Sirsa said that an order has been issued to close the gurdwara which had organized langar (free food service) and arranged beds for patients during the second wave of corona infection and bandh.
