Orange zone: Sicily in the balance, Valle D’Aosta one step away

Rome, 13 January 2022 – Valle d’Aosta one step away from orange zone. According to the latest give Agenas, the Region has exceeded both parameters for the change of band: hospitalizations have been 54% for days (threshold 30%), while intensive care reaches 21% (threshold 20%). From Monday, therefore, Erik Lavevaz’s territory should change color and consequently adopt more restrictive measures. On the wire, according to the numbers, also the Sicily (20% intensive and 34% in the departments): his position, with the other Regions, will be evaluated in tomorrow’s meeting of the Control room. If, therefore, at the moment Valle D’Aosta seems the only certain one, there are a total of 7 Regions that exceed the threshold of resuscitation, including the Lazio, the Market and the Tuscany: these territories should ‘save themselves’ from the change of color for next week (having admissions below the limit), but, if the trend continues to grow, they risk passing the band by the end of the month. Let’s see all the data and rules in detail below.

Covid, the unavailable Zithromax antibiotic. But Aifa: “No use against the virus”

There are three i parameters to be overcome at the regional level to enter orange zone:

  • Incidence higher than 150 almost per 100 thousand inhabitants (value that exceeds all Regions)
  • The threshold of the 30% of the beds occupied in the ordinary departments
  • The threshold of the 20% of the beds occupied in the terapie intensive

The only region that, according to Agenas data and the parameters listed above, will almost certainly pass into the orange zone is Valle d’Aosta: the territory in fact exceeds both the threshold of ordinary departments (54%), and those of intensive care (21%). Very poised there Sicily which exceeds the limit of ordinary hospitalizations (34%) while it is on the threshold for resuscitation (20%). The decision on the color change will be taken, as always, after the meeting scheduled for tomorrow of the Control room.

“Omicron like a flu”. Here are the numbers

He is expected to dodge the orange zone this week on Friuli Venezia Giulia, which exceeds the threshold of intensive care (23%), but should be ‘saved’ because it remains just below the limit of admissions (29%). And it will be necessary to pay attention to the performance of the parameters also in Calabria and in Lombardy: both regions, in fact, have exceeded the threshold of admissions (Calabria 39%, Lombardy 31%), while they are reaching the limit of resuscitation (both at 17%).

But intensive care is beyond the threshold even in Tuscany (which has 22% employment in resuscitation and 23% in ordinary wards), in the province of Trento (28% and 25% respectively), in Market (23% and 26%), in Lazio (22% and 25%) and in Abruzzo (20% and 26%). For this, it will be necessary to monitor the situation in the coming weeks but, if the trend continues to grow, the regions could risk the orange zone by the end of the month.

Piedmont case. The region also remains in the yellow zone for next week: the uncertainty of recent days has been resolved by the decisiveincrease in beds available in hospitals, 970 in all with the contribution of 500 from the private. And today the hospital pressure figure marked the first drop since December 18: -1 in intensive care, – 4 in the other wards.

The parameters have also dropped in Liguria, which, from the data of 11 January, seemed almost certainly in the orange zone: admissions have dropped from 38% to 37%, while intensive care from 20% to 18%.

Let’s start by remembering that the restrictions of the orange zone they do not touch those who have the super Green pass, or those who have undergone the vaccination or are cured of Covid. The question changes, however, for those who are not in possession of the Green pass, or have not even undergone the swab, and for the unvaccinated. Let’s see how.

For who does not have a Green pass, the displacements with their own vehicle to other municipalities of the same Region or to other Regions / PAs are allowed just for work, need, salute or for services not suspended but not available in your municipality (with self-certification). On the other hand, transfers from municipalities of up to 5 thousand inhabitants, to other municipalities within 30 km, except the provincial capital.
IS forbidden also access to the shops in the shopping centers on holidays and days before holidays (except foodstuffs, newsagents, bookstores, pharmacies, tobacconists).

For those who have the Green pass base (swab negative), on the other hand, access to the shops present in the shopping centers on holidays and days before holidays (except foodstuffs, newsstands, bookstores, pharmacies, tobacconists), but also the training courses in presence and the practice of sport contact outdoors.
