Eighth in Ligue 1, OL had a disastrous season for Peter Bosz’s first year in the Rhône.
Officially, however, Peter Bosz retains the support of Jean-Michel Aulas and for the time being, the Dutch coach has been confirmed with a view to next season. The victory of Olympique Lyonnais in Marseille (0-3) had offered respite to Peter Bosz but a week later, everything is called into question with an unexpected defeat at the red lantern of Ligue 1, FC Metz (3-2). Internally, several leaders have doubts about Peter Bosz, who will inevitably be under pressure this summer when OL will have to draw the outlines of their organization for next season. An observation that is all the more valid since Christophe Galtier, who was Lyon’s priority before falling back on Peter Bosz last summer, could once again be on the market. And the least we can say is that OL are monitoring this situation with the greatest attention according to Foot Mercato.
Christophe Galtier weakened in Nice
A year after leaving Lille, Christophe Galtier is in turmoil in Nice. Everything was going well until April for the Aiglons, who lost everything in the space of a few weeks: their place on the podium as well as the Coupe de France with a defeat against Nantes in the final. In addition to the deteriorating results, Christophe Galtier has to deal with internal tensions, especially with the director of football Julien Fournier. Finally, Christophe Galtier’s message seems to be getting less and less well with his players, which logically weakens the former LOSC coach. A boon for Olympique Lyonnais, who dreamed of recruiting Christophe Galtier last summer and of which Bruno Cheyrou is a fervent supporter internally at OL. The head of the Lyon recruitment unit would not say no to a departure from Peter Bosz in order to make room for Christophe Galtier. That said, it is important to remember that there is currently no contact between OL and the Nice coach according to the specialized media, which explains however that Cheyrou is an assumed fan of Christophe Galtier. During all his discussions with the various agents he has met in recent weeks, one of the strong men of OL sings the praises of Galtier. A coach he would obviously like to work with in the future.
