Thanks to the extension of the measures taken by FIFA, Tetê will be able to leave Shakhtar Donetsk on loan again next season. The Brazilian winger would like to take the opportunity to stay at Olympique Lyonnais despite the interest of several clubs in the Premier League.
After only 10 matches in all competitions, Olympique Lyonnais was seduced. It didn’t take Tetê more to convince the Rhone club to keep him next season. The task, however, promised to be complicated at first. As a reminder, the Shakhtar Donetsk winger was able to leave on loan during the second half of the season thanks to the FIFA measure. The body has indeed authorized players playing in Russia and Ukraine to suspend their contract to join another team.
FIFA releases Tetê again
The objective for Olympique Lyonnais was therefore to negotiate his final transfer. Which then seemed unlikely given that Shakhtar Donetsk were demanding 28 million euros for their player under contract until December 2023. But since then, the geopolitical situation has not evolved in the right direction in Ukraine, prompting FIFA to extend its measures for next season. In other words, Tetê will again be able to suspend his lease with the Ukrainian club and join the formation of his choice.

It was the opportunity for the left-hander to discover English football since several Premier League residents, starting with West Ham, would welcome him this summer. But according to information from Mike McGrath, journalist for the Daily Telegraph, the English clubs do not have the favors of the player who prefers to continue the adventure at Olympique Lyonnais. Nothing surprising insofar as Tetê has shown himself to his advantage in Lyon, with in particular two goals and five assists in Ligue 1. Promising statistics for a rookie not yet fully adapted.
