The negotiations between Boca Juniors and OM over Dario Benedetto are coming to an end. The Argentine is expected to join his former club in the coming days. First left to be loaned, it could finally be sold doing the business of OM.
Dario Benedetto’s adventure in Marseille is experiencing its last episodes. Arrived in the summer of 2019 from Boca Juniors, he never managed to be the long-awaited center forward on the Canebière. OM have resolved to turn the page on Benedetto, notably with his loan to Elche at the start of the season. The player and the Olympian club must finalize their separation. Boca Juniors is determined to recover its former striker and will satisfy all these beautiful people. But, it is now a question of settling the financial details of the transfer of a player who cost OM 14 million euros in 2019.

Boca’s money could speed up Bakambu’s coming
If the Marseillais are under no illusions to recover such an amount, they do not intend to spit on a few cents which can prove to be very precious in this month of January. The idea of a loan was first suggested by Boca but ultimately the Buenos Aires club will get their hands on the wallet for its former player. Argentinian media TyC Sports reveals that Boca Juniors, OM, as well as Elche where Benedetto is loaned, have agreed to a transfer for an amount of 1.8 million euros and a two-and-a-half-year contract. The Spanish club would recover two to three Argentinian players in the operation. If this amount may seem disappointing for the Marseillais, it is not negligible for all that. Combined with the Argentinian’s salary and less in the payroll, this money will facilitate the purchase of Cédric Bakambu who is targeted by OM as a striker during this winter transfer window.
