‘No! Do not look!’ trumps ‘Run!’ with US$44 million debut

Success! the new terror of Jordan PeeleNo! Do not look!‘ (Nope), debuted with solids $44 million at the North American box office.

For comparison purposes, the result is superior to the release of the acclaimed ‘Run!‘, which debuted with $33.3 millionin 2017. The new horror, however, was well below ‘We‘ (US$71.1M), the filmmaker’s previous film.

Regardless of anything, ‘No! Do not look!‘ performed impressively for an original production of the genre. This is the fifth horror film released by Universal Pictures after the pandemic, after ‘the black phone‘, ‘Halloween Kills‘, ‘The Legend of Candyman‘ and ‘A Purge Night – The Frontier‘.

Among them, the new terror of Jordan Peele had the second-biggest domestic debut, behind only ‘Halloween Kills‘ (US$49.4M).

Please note that ‘No! Do not look!‘ will be released in national cinemas on August 25th.

In the plot, the residents of a lonely ravine in the interior of California witness a strange and frightening discovery.

No! Do not look!‘ raised US$ 6.4 million on Thursday previews at 3,250 theaters across the US.
