New movie with Andrew Garfield is released on Netflix this Friday

The composer is mainly known for the musicals Rent and Tick, Tick…Boom! For the creation and production of Rent, the playwright posthumously received three Tony Awards, the highest award in the world of theater.

“An aspiring theater composer faces a crisis as he approaches 30 and doesn’t feel at all close to his dream”, states the official synopsis of the film.

The film’s plot begins in 1992, years before the creation of Rent. In addition to addressing Jonathan Larson’s psychological state, the film also shows how the playwright was inspired to create the iconic play.

The musical Rent addresses the anxieties, loves and dramas of a group of New York friends who struggle to survive and create art under the shadows of the HIV-AIDS epidemic.
