The writer of the upcoming Marvel movie Avengers: The Kang Dynasty has apparently revealed a new member of the Avengers. However, the actor knows nothing.
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty
Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) kicked off with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. With a whopping six more movies and six Disney+ series coming up in the next few years, fans will have to wait for a fifth Avengers movie to come. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will not start in cinemas until April 30, 2025 and thus only in phase 6 of the MCU. Since the start of the film is still far in the future, details about the long-awaited ensemble film are few and far between, but new information has probably already surfaced.
Jeff Lovenessauthor of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, had in an interview with ComicBook.com apparently revealed the newest member of the Avengers. Because the Marvel writer is next writing the screenplay for “The Kang Dynasty” and said in the conversation that he is looking forward to Namor: “I look forward to writing Namor.”
Now Namor actor Tenoch has opposite Huerta The Wrap explains that he still has no idea what his Marvel future looks like and whether he will appear in another film:
“Honestly, I don’t know. I hope so though. Please tell people to tweet and write to Marvel because I would love to be in a next movie but I really don’t know.”
Namor has only appeared in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. There, Namor, who rules the underwater people of Talokan, first sought an alliance with Wakanda before attacking the land. At the end of the film, Namor surrendered and a peaceful alliance was formed between the two countries. The mutant, as he called himself, indicated that he is not always an altruistic superhero, just like in the comics, but that he is primarily concerned with protecting his people and that he appears with a not exactly small amount of arrogance. With that in mind, his participation would add some spice to the new Avengers movie.
As one of Marvel’s oldest characters, Namor’s acclaim for his appearance in Wakanda Forever has garnered a larger fan base that should look forward to Namor’s induction into the Avengers, should it materialize. In addition to “The Kang Dynasty”, these Marvel works await you:
Namor is set to play an important role in the MCU
Aside from the hint of loveness, there’s another hint that Namor will soon play a major role in the MCU. Because “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” author Michael Waldron has in an interview with Variety tells that Namor was supposed to become part of the Illuminati like in the comics, but the plan had to be cancelled:
“We talked about him because of course he’s an original member of the Illuminati. But I think Marvel has other plans for him in the MCU. And that’s why it didn’t find its way into this film.”
In any case, should Namor become a member of the Avengers, that would be a good reason why he was absent from Doctor Strange 2, where he would have been in danger of being burnt out in the multiverse. How exactly Namor could join the Avengers, we will certainly find out in the course of the next Marvel works.
