Streaming is developing two sequels to ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Return of Leatherface‘.
It is worth remembering that, despite the negative reviews, the 2022 reboot was a great success, reaching second place on the platform’s most popular productions in its first week of release, with more than 29 million hours watched. In addition, the feature remained stable the following week, falling to the third position of the most watched productions on the streaming service.
Previously, the director david blue garcia had revealed that he already has “incredible ideas” for a possible sequel to the horror ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Return of Leatherface‘.
“I’ve been thinking a lot about what would happen in a sequel to this story or another tale in this universe. I have some amazing ideas that I would love to share with Legendary if they want to develop a new film. There are also things I wish I could have done in this movie, and I wish I had the opportunity to bring those into the sequel.”
He completes, “And, of course, there’s that hook [para uma sequência] in the movie’s post-credits scene, so there’s definitely a future to explore.”
The plot takes place years after the shocking events of the original film, in a setting where Leatherface has not been seen since.
It is worth remembering that the legendary Sally Hardesty, the only survivor of the 1974 film, returned in the new film. The character was played by Olwen Fourere (‘Contagion on the High Seas’).
