‘Naomi’: The CW Series Canceled After One Season

Bad news for fans of ‘Naomi’.

The recent production of The CWcreated by Ava DuVernaywas officially canceled by the network after just one season.

The channel decided to reformulate its complete programming and ended several other productions, including ‘Dynasty’, ‘Legends of tomorrow’ and ‘Legacies’.

The final episodes aired on the last day May 10th.

“READY OR NOT” – In the first episode of the double season finale, after having visions about her brief time on Earth-29, Naomi seeks advice from her protectors – Dee, Zumbado, Greg, Jen and Akira – but none of them can agree to create a plan. , and Naomi feels left out about her own future. After receiving a special gift from Akira, she sets out on a journey with Annabelle, in search of a specific place of a new vision. But something follows them closely. Meanwhile, Anthony’s attempt to get Naomi’s attention by revisiting the “Superman stunt” results in an unexpected alliance with Lourdes – but the danger grows as they uncover the truth.

“WHO AM I?” – Naomi must make a decision to protect those she loves most, but in the end, she needs them by her side in a battle that has been premeditated since birth. And while everyone has an opinion on what her future should look like, her greatest power will manifest only when she stops believing everything she once thought was true… and chooses her own destiny.

From Oscar nominee and Emmy winner Ava DuVernay and Jill Blankenship, the drama centers on a fun, confident, comic book-loving teenager as she embarks on a journey to find her hidden destiny. When a supernatural event rocks the small town of Port Oswego, Naomi sets out to discover her origins, with the help of her best friend Annabelle. She also has the support of her adoptive parents, military veteran Greg and linguist Jennifer.

After an encounter with Zumbado, the mysterious owner of an old parking lot, leaves her shocked, Naomi seeks help from Dee, the owner of a tattoo parlor, who becomes her mentor. As she unravels the mysteries about herself, Naomi also navigates through friendships at school, including ex-boyfriend and athlete Nathan; Annabelle’s boyfriend Jacob; a proud citizen named Anthony; and comic book enthusiast Lourdes. As Naomi travels to the far reaches of the Multiverse in search of answers, what she discovers will change everything we believe about superheroes.

DuVernay was in charge of production alongside Blankenship, who also signed the script.

Kaci Walfall, Camila Moreno, Alexander Wraith, Cranston Johnson, Barry Watson, Mary-Charles Jones, Aidan Gemme, Mouzam Makkar, Will Meyes and Daniel Puig were part of the cast.

For those who don’t know, the original comic was written by Brian Michael Bendis, David F. Walker and Jamal Campbell and follows a young outsider who comes to our world to protect it from a genocide that destroyed her home world.
