‘Naomi’: Heroine’s powers are featured in the official teaser for episode 01×02; Check out!

A CW released the official teaser of ‘Unidentified Flying Object’, second episode of the premiere season of Naomi, a new series of superheroes led by Ava DuVernay (‘Eyes that Condemn’).

The episode airs on the day January 18th.

in the plot, “after a shocking revelation made by Dee (Alexander Wraith), Naomi (Kaci Walfall) enlists the help of his friends to dig deeper into the mystery surrounding the unexplained occurrences in Port Oswego – and whether they have anything to do with his past. Meanwhile, Naomi’s parents (Barry Watson e Mouzam Makkar) are taken by surprise by their daughter’s questions. Another dark encounter with Zumbado (Cranston Johnson) leaves Naomi shaken, and she asks Dee for help in taking the next step toward her destiny.”

From Oscar nominee and Emmy winner Ava DuVernay and Jill Blankenship, the drama centers on a fun, confident, comic book-loving teenager as she embarks on a journey to find her hidden destiny. When a supernatural event rocks the small town of Port Oswego, Naomi sets out to discover her origins, with the help of her best friend Annabelle. She also has the support of her adoptive parents, military veteran Greg and linguist Jennifer.

After an encounter with Zumbado, the mysterious owner of an old parking lot, leaves her shocked, Naomi seeks help from Dee, the owner of a tattoo parlor, who becomes her mentor. As she unravels the mysteries about herself, Naomi also navigates through friendships at school, including ex-boyfriend and athlete Nathan; Annabelle’s boyfriend Jacob; a proud citizen named Anthony; and comic book enthusiast Lourdes. As Naomi travels to the far reaches of the Multiverse in search of answers, what she discovers will change everything we believe about superheroes.

Amanda Marsalis, known for her work on works such as ‘Queen Sugar’ e ‘Ozark’, runs the pilot episode.

DuVernay is responsible for production alongside Blankenship, who also signs the script.

Camila Moreno, Alexander Wraith, Cranston Johnson, Barry Watson, Mary-Charles Jones, Aidan Gemme, Mouzam Makkar, Will Meyes e Daniel puig complete the list.

For those who don’t know, the original comic was written by Brian Michael Bendis, David F. Walker e Jamal Campbell and follows a young outsider who comes to our world to protect it from a genocide that destroyed her home world.
