Missed on TV? You can catch up on this creepy horror film adaptation in the stream

Anyone who missed it on TV can catch up on one of the most successful and scariest video game adaptations in the stream.

In recent years, the Resident Evil franchise has been ubiquitous again. Not only in the video game sector, but also with films and series. The film Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City and the Netflix series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness were released last year. But that’s not all, because the streaming service will start a live-action series on July 14, 2022 with “Resident Evil”.

While the franchise, especially in the film sector, stands for more action-heavy horror, offers you “Silent Hill” psychological horror at its finest. The filming of the first part ran on Wednesday June 22, 2022 around 10:00 p.m. at TELE5 (Stream see next paragraph). Based on the first game, the film tells the story of Rose (Radha Mitchell) who travels to the small town of Silent Hill with her adopted daughter Sharon (Jodelle Ferland). In her nightmares, Sharon repeatedly speaks of the foggy city, which constantly rains ash and is ruled by a mysterious cult.

“Silent Hill” is one of the best video game adaptations

The “Silent Hill” games are among the classics of the horror genre and have gathered a loyal fan base around them. Director Christophe Gans (“Pact of the Wolves”) is a big fan of the games himself and you can clearly see that in the adaptation. The first “Silent Hill” film is one of the best video game adaptations and manages to transfer the disturbing and oppressive atmosphere of the template to the screen. The psychological horror that the series is known for also often finds a place.

The less successful sequel “Silent Hill: Revelation” is available on Amazon Prime

Goose and screenwriter Roger Avary (“Pulp Fiction”) made some changes from the first game, but they’re not necessarily bad and have their own place in the film’s story. “Silent Hill” is also suitable for newcomers to the series who are not yet familiar with the cursed little town. In addition to Radha Mitchell (“Pitch Black – Planet of Darkness”), there are also “Game of Thrones” and “Lord of the Rings” star Sean Bean and Laurie Holden, known from series like “The Walking Dead” and “The Americans”. There is also good news for fans of the film adaptation: A new “Silent Hill” film, directed by Gans, is scheduled to come out next year.
