Milan, the Covid hospital in Fiera reopens for the third time: 30 beds activated. Polyclinic and Niguarda staff are ready

A Milano will reopen from Friday thehospital in Fiera for i patients Covid. The Lombardy region sent the request to Milan Polyclinic who coordinates the structure and who will be present with his staff and with staff of theNiguarda hospital. This is the third reopening of the hospital at the fair (where they have been hospitalized so far over 500 patients from therapy intensive), after that between April and June 2020 for the first wave, and that one between October 2020 and June 2021 for the second and third.

In particular, the first two modules of intensive care 15 beds each in the temporary structure set up in Fieramilanocity, welcoming patients with Covid who need intensive care from all over Lombardy.

As for the previous openings, coordination is entrusted to the Policlinico di Milano, which provides the technical staff, technical sanitary, administrative, pharmaceutical e support for its management while healthcare personnel (anesthetists e critical area nurses) is made available by the Policlinico and the Grande Metropolitano Niguarda Hospital as well as by various other accredited public and private structures, so as not to weigh on individual departments or regional health companies. From 17 December the structure had been pre-alerted for a possible reopening. In the two modules, part of the new hospitalization requests for the most serious patients with Covid-19 will be accepted, in order to “lighten” the intensive care in Lombard hospitals and to be able to dedicate them to patients with other pathologies.
