Divorce is stressful for almost every child. Michal David’s parents therefore wanted to give their children at least a choice. “We actually kind of decided it as children ourselves, I wanted to live with my mother because there was more freedom, while my father was a pedant and he wanted a sister.” Michal confided in the Po pravda show. Even so, they did not avoid the disagreements that arose. “I only remember bits and pieces from that time, because it was all kinds of struggles and it was certainly not a happy time for me as a child,” added the singer.

He and his father Vladimír Štancel (†79) had different opinions and did not understand each other very well. But when the singer found out that his father had died in 2011, it crushed him. He had not seen him for many years.
