Directed by Guy Ritchie, King Arthur: The Legend of the Sword brings a new approach to the story of King Arthur, who is played here by Charlie Hunnam, from Sons of Anarchy. A synopsis with more details can be read below.

“Arthur is a street young man who is unaware of his predestination until the moment he comes in contact with Excalibur for the first time.”

“Challenged by the sword, he needs to make difficult decisions, face his demons and learn to master the power he possesses in order to finally unite his people and fight the tyrant Vortigern, who destroyed his family.”

movie failed in theaters

Despite its success on Netflix, King Arthur: The Legend of the Sword did not do well at the box office when it opened in theaters.

With a big budget, it failed to gross $150 million at the box office, resulting in a loss for Warner Bros.

Experts called the feature “dull” and criticized the changes in the story. Still, it’s worth watching if you’re a fan of any of Guy Ritchie’s work.

Remember, as a Warner Bros., King Arthur: The Legend of the Sword is not exclusive to Netflix. Therefore, it is possible that it will be removed from the catalog soon.
