The idea was actually perfect: what better way to surprise Marvel fans than at „Spider-Man: No Way Home“ suddenly out of nowhere the old Spider-Man actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield Pop up? Can you imagine the reactions in the cinema? Well, unfortunately it has to stay with a performance, because it is now an open secret that the two will star in the next film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) at the side of Tom Holland.

One tempting offer chases the next: don’t miss the Black Friday week on Amazon

There are simply too many hints and rumors in this direction, even the second trailer for “Spider-Man: No Way Home” apparently made a corresponding glitch, which was good for a lot of laughs among Marvel fans. And obviously the cautious attitude of the stars is slowly leaving a lot to be desired, as two young examples illustrate.

For one thing, there would be spoiler devils Tom Hollandwho has inadvertently disclosed MCU secrets on several occasions. Together with his co-stars Zendaya and Jacob Batalon, he recorded a reaction video for the new trailer. At the very scene in which the trailer broke down, Tom Holland asked: “Where’s the …” before interrupting himself. Of course, it didn’t take long before fans had fun with it:

It is of course unclear whether Tom Holland really got a threatening look from Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige at the moment of his suspected slip of the tongue. Nor do we know what question Holland wanted to ask. Due to the beginning, the scene, his sudden pause and his past as a spoiler risk, the assumption is that he actually wanted to ask where the other Spider-Men are at this moment.

MCU newcomer Jaime Foxx writes of “spiders”

The slip of is clearer, but also less funny Jamie Foxx the end. He returns as Electro in “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, he last played the Marvel villain in “The Amazing: Spider-Man 2: Rise of Electro”, when Andrew Garfield was his opponent. And Fox himself suggests that he could also deal with his Peter Parker. In response to the new trailer, he posted an Instagram post with the hashtag “#chasingspiders”, which means “spiders hunt”.

Now, of course, the question arises: Why “spiders”, ie plural, when officially it is only against Tom Holland’s Spider-Man?

The Multiverse is likely to bring back the Marvel heroes of previous generations in addition to the Spider-Man villains. Even if pretty much everyone is expecting their appearance in “No Way Home” at this point, cheers will surely break out in several cinemas should Garfield and Maguire actually show up. Fortunately, we don’t have to wait long for a final answer: “Spider-Man: No Way Home” starts on December 15, 2021 in German cinemas.
