Marvel revelation: MCU boss wanted to kill four more heroes in “Avengers: Endgame”.

With the next Avengers movies already casting their shadows, new details are revealed about the latest post.

The wait was finally over: With “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” and “Avengers: Secret Wars”, Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios and COO of Marvel Entertainment, revealed the next two big ones at the San Diego Comic-Con Event Movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). They should even surpass the biggest event of the franchise so far, “Avengers: Endgame”.

So while fans’ eyes inevitably turn to the future of the Avengers, Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo look back on their record-breaking blockbuster. in the Happy/Sad/Confused Podcast (via slash movie) the two came to talk about the (so far) biggest film of their careers and revealed an interesting detail. Because MCU boss Kevin Feige of all people originally wanted to drive up the death rate in the plant properly:

“There were some rumors going around about who was going to die. In fact, Kevin once suggested taking all the originals off the board. We felt it was too extreme and the audience wouldn’t be able to process it. And even that having one or two characters sacrifice themselves throughout the movie allows for more moments during the movie where the action can pause and you can have an emotional catharsis and then continue the story.”

A really interesting statement because it suggests that at an early point, indeed, anything seemed possible. Apparently we could also have experienced an MCU where in “Avengers: Endgame” not only Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) die, but also Captain America (Chris Evans) – who himself “just” retired – Thor (Chris Hemsworth) as well as Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner). Of course, this sheds a different light on the previous projects in phase 4 of the MCU and certainly some of the titles to come. Because alone “Thor: Love and Thunder”, “Hawkeye” and “She-Hulk: The Lawyer” would not have been conceivable in the form we now know. The following trailer reveals what awaits you in the “She-Hulk” series:

When will the remaining original Avengers say goodbye to the MCU?

As interesting as this what-if scenario is, Anthony Russo made it clear that this option wasn’t on the table for long:

“That was in the beginning. It’s not like there was ever a script or anything with it… It only existed on a conceptual level.”

Nevertheless, one can draw the reassuring thought from this that hopefully those responsible will mostly implement what they think is the best story at the moment. Killing all of the original Avengers in Endgame, however, really would have been too much for the audience. After all, we “only” got two deaths and one more farewell in the film and even then there was a lot of criticism of the handling of Black Widow’s death, as many felt that her passing was given too little space and meaning in the story been.

So the question remains when do we have to say goodbye to the three original Avengers remaining in the MCU. Hawkeye may have just trained his own successor in Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), so he could soon be retiring for good. The Hulk is rumored to be getting his own movie, said to be based on the popular World War Hulk comic, which you can buy here on Amazon. In theory, this could be Mark Ruffalo’s grand finale, if the rumor turns out to be true. We may learn more through the series “She-Hulk: The Lawyer”, which starts on August 18, 2022 on Disney+. Thor, on the other hand, seems to be forming a new space duo with Love that could cause a sensation in the MCU for years to come. We can be excited accordingly.
