Marvel Boss Sends Heartbreaking Message to Batgirl Directors; Look

The cancellation of Batgirl took the entire film industry by surprise and even Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, sent a message to the directors of the feature film.

In Instagram stories, Batgirl director Adil El Arbi shared a screenshot of an email sent to him and director Bilall Fallah by Feige.

“My friends, I had to get in touch and say that we are all thinking of you two. Because of the wedding (congratulations!) and the disappointing Batgirl news,” Feige wrote. “So proud of you for all the amazing work you do and particularly Ms. Marvel, of course! I can’t wait to see what comes next. Hope to see you soon.”

El Arbi captioned the image with a message of gratitude to the head of Marvel Studios “thank you brother Kevin”.

Studio reportedly saved $20 million

Budgeted at $90 million and in post-production, Batgirl was dropped by Warner Bros. Discovery no more, no less.

However, according to a new report from Deadline, the studio would be saving $20 million by canceling the film (via comic book).

The fact would be the tax reduction on this amount, since the film would be released in theaters, with a marketing campaign for the release.
