Marvel banned famous villain from being mentioned in Moon Knight

Originally, Moon Knight would have a reference to the villain Kang the Conqueror. But not in a very direct way.

In an interview with the The Directproducer and screenwriter Jeremy Slater said that, at one point, there was a mention of the name Rama-Tut, which is a way Kang the Conqueror has been called in Marvel comics.

“There was a line where Rama-Tut was mentioned as part of an Egyptian story. I can’t remember for sure if that scene is still in the show or not.”

“But it was just a little reference, like part of a list of famous pharaohs or something like that.”

“It was the idea of Nick Pepin, one of the executives at Marvel. He thought it would be fun to include that little reference.”

Jonathan Majors will be Kang the Conqueror in the MCU

It’s possible that other Marvel Studios leaders disagreed because, currently, there are other, more specific plans for Kang the Conqueror.

After playing a variant of the character in Loki, Jonathan Majors will take on the role of Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

In Marvel comics, the villain is one of the most iconic and powerful of the Avengers, as well as having a connection with the Fantastic Four.

Moon Knight is available on Disney+.
