Popular Malayalam actor Rizabawa passed away at a private hospital on Monday at the age of 54 (Rizabawa Passed Away). He was suffering from kidney disease for a long time. In an acting career that began with the hugely successful film ‘Dr Pasupati’ in 1990, he has acted in over 120 films. Rizabawa played the villain but has excelled in comedy roles as well as playing the hero.

Condoling the actor’s demise, well-known director Shaji Kailas, who directed Rijabawa’s debut film, said that he had a very calm personality. And it was a pleasure working with him. He said, ‘We used to talk regularly even recently. I have lost a good friend and above all a very good person.’

Veteran comedian and character actor, and former head of Malayalam actor body AMMA, Innocent, who played a key role in Rijabava’s debut film, said, “Even though we will all react to the news of a colleague’s passing, I am really I feel very sad. He said, “He was a really nice person and above all who was very calm and did his work with a lot of passion. We will all miss him.

Rijabawa’s popular films include ‘In Harihara Nagar’, ‘Malappuram Haji Mahanaya Joji’, ‘Pokkiriraja’. She had acted in more than two dozen serials on TV aired by various Malayalam TV channels. When he was not acting, Rijabawa was a popular dubbing artist, and in 2010, he received his only State Film Award for his dubbing in the film ‘Karmayogi’. Condolences have started pouring in from different sections of the Kerala society.
