Les Extatiques, the monumental open-air exhibition at La Défense is back from June 22 to October 2, 2022 for a 5th edition. This year again, we can take advantage of the very beautiful installations to see between La Défense and the gardens of the Seine Musicale.
Art is everywhere defense ! Huge open-air museum, Defense offers 69 works of art to observe, including Thumb of Caesar, The Indeterminate double lines by Bernar Venet, The Bowl by Takis, The Fantasy Characters by Joan Miro, TheRed Spider by Alexander Calder. And for several summers, we’ve been enjoying an extra dose of culture with The Ecstaticsa outdoor exhibition installed at La Défense.
This year is no exception: from June 22 to October 2, 2022, The Ecstatics are making their grand return to La Défense and the musical Seine, for our greatest pleasure.
For the fifth edition of this exhibition ofcontemporary art in the open air, we discover a new route made up of many monumental and surprising works. The artists French and international invited to this exhibition have created new sculptures and installations that shake up our vision of the world.
This year, we can admire the work of Elsa Tomkowiak, Marcus Coates, Henrique Oliveira, Victoria Klotz, the Coloco collective, Franck Gérard, Gloria Friedmann and many others.
Many artists have created works around the nature, animals, elements, plants… In this large urban center, you can admire different animals, installations based on wood, air and plants. We wonder about the place and the role of Man, we discover snapshots of life taken between two towers of La Défense, we marvel at the colors shimmering installations illuminated by the sun… This fifth edition presents beautiful sparks of life among the skyscrapers.
The Ecstatic again go beyond the borders of La Défense and also settle in the gardens of the Musical Seine. The sculptures invest the public space in a pleasant route, which allows you to rediscover the esplanade of La Défense and the outdoor spaces of La Seine Musicale (forecourt, roof garden, etc.). Some works are intended to stay and join the 69 defense worksthe others enter the departmental collections.
For the first time, a work from the Extatiques route is also installed at Courbevoie, in collaboration with the Les Mots Libres festival. Meet in front of the forecourt of the event center to admire this installation by Mattia Paco Rizzi.
Take advantage of Ecstatic to take a nice walk in these lively and dynamic neighborhoods. In family or between friends, let yourself be surprised, seduced and amused by the unique creations of these renowned artists.
