The Olympic champion will be a mother again
Beach volleyball player Laura Ludwig has two reasons to be happy: She is expecting her second child – and will soon be standing in front of the altar.
Laura Ludwig, 35, is not only celebrating great successes in her career. Since the birth of her son Teo Johnston, 3, in June 2018, she and her partner, the Scottish beach volleyball coach Imornefe Bowes, 45, have been in absolute family happiness. Now the Olympic champion reveals that she is pregnant again.
Laura Ludwig: She is expecting her second child
Her family is growing: Laura and Imornefe are looking forward to their second child together. The professional athlete confirmed to the magazine “Bunte” that her offspring will see the light of day in May 2022. She also reveals the gender of her baby: “It will be a boy again.”
Little Teo is said not to have been enthusiastic about this at first. “Teo shed a few tears because he wanted a little sister,” reveals Mama Laura. In the meantime he has got used to the idea and is looking forward to his little brother.
Soon the wedding bells will ring
For the 35-year-old there is even another happy event ahead of her: she and her partner, whom she affectionately calls “Morph”, want to get married before the birth of their second son. “We just haven’t made it yet,” she says. Laura goes into raptures and tells how much being a parent has welded her and Morph together: “Our love has become even stronger through our shared responsibility for a little being.”
Laura Ludwig was able to record great successes in her sporting career. In 2016 she became Olympic champion together with colleague Kira Walkenhorst, 30. In 2017 she became world champion in beach volleyball. In addition, she was European champion several times during her career – she also won the title of “Best Beach Volleyball Player of the Year” several times.
