Large-scale rocket attacks on Ukrainian cities: “Seek safe places everyone!”

Several cities in Ukraine were hit by Russian missile attacks on Tuesday. This is reported by the local authorities. In addition to the capital Kiev, this includes Lviv, Kharkiv and Odessa. It is the first large-scale attack since the Russian withdrawal from parts of Kherson last week.

“Explosions are heard in Lviv, everyone go to safe places!” Lviv Mayor Andrij Sadovy told Telegram. “Rocket attack on Industrialny district in Kharkiv,” said the mayor of the second largest Ukrainian city, Igor Terechov. Both mayors do not provide information about any victims.

Attacks were also reported in the regions of Odessa, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Khmelnytsky and Dnipropetrovsk. Air raid sirens were heard all over the country.

Kiev mayor Vitali Klitschko also reported rocket attacks on his city, hitting two residential buildings.

Large-scale power cuts were reported in the cities of Lviv, Kharkiv and Kovel. The metro has been interrupted in Lviv and power has been lost in part of Kharkiv, the mayors report. And in Kiev too, the network operator warns of unexpected power cuts. Many districts in the capital have already introduced restrictions on power consumption, and in the region of Sumy, on the border with Russia, power is being deliberately cut to save the network.

According to Ukrainian media, the missiles were fired over the Caspian Sea.
