Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos has a clear opinion on the kits that sporting goods manufacturer Adidas has provided Los Blancos with in recent years. The current one is not one of his favourites.
In his “Einfach mal Luppen” podcast, Kroos said of the current Real Madrid kit: “A polo shirt is not a football shirt. It’s aimed at all manufacturers: that’s big shit!”
The 33-year-old doesn’t like the collar at all. It’s uncomfortable to play football with. “You just have to add a few more buttons and we start playing with a shirt, eh?”
His favorite jersey, on the other hand, dates back a few years. It was the championship jersey of the 2019/20 season: “It was by far the most beautiful jersey I’ve ever played in.”
Kroos added: “If we hadn’t won a title with this shirt, it would have been disrespectful to the shirt.”
Kroos is generally considered more of a traditionalist and for a long time wore shoes by Adidas, which actually no longer belonged to the collection of the company with the three stripes. His current shoes, the “11pro” from Adidas, are also a model that “is white and still made of real leather”.
