Kawardha (Representative of New Zealand). Livelihood promotion work was done through various government schemes in Rajnawagaon village of Bodla block of Kabirdham district. Under the guidance of Panchayat and Rural Development Department, more than 240 rural women are getting benefited by the joint efforts of Agriculture Department, Horticulture Department, Fisheries Department and Krishi Vigyan Kendra Kawardha. Coordination of all the departments was done to develop the Multiutility Center in a planned manner. The multiutility center built in an area of 10 acres has got recognition as Bhoramdev Aajeevika Complex.

By dividing the center set up in an area of 10 acres, women were involved in the work of livelihood promotion through many activities. There is internal activities inside the center (building) and community farming (outside the building). Multi-utility center building has been constructed in 2.5 acres at a cost of Rs.3.698 crore through the state funded scheme, Mukhyamantri Samagra Gramin Vikas Yojana. Under Mahatma Gandhi NREGA scheme, internal access demand construction work has been done in the multi-utility center premises at a cost of Rs. In this work, 1211 man-days of employment were created, in which a total expenditure of Rs.3.88 lakh has been spent including Rs.2.06 lakh on wages and Rs.1.82 lakh on material. The above work has been done by the Gram Panchayat Rajanwagaon.

Women Self Help Groups of National Rural Livelihood Mission, Bihan, run by Panchayat and Rural Development Department, were trained by Krishi Vigyan Kendra Kawardha, Agriculture Department, Horticulture Department, Fisheries Department for community farming and other activities. Along with the training, the necessary support and materials were made available to the group by the department. The work of land development for community farming was done under Mahatma Gandhi NREGA scheme. Along with this, seeds of vegetables for farming, drip irrigation for irrigation means were done by the Horticulture Department. Technical testing and other necessary support was provided by the Agriculture Department for vegetable production. In collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, the work of beekeeping is going on as a honey processing center. NADEF tank was built under Mahatma Gandhi NREGA scheme for making organic manure from cow dung available in nearby Gauthan.
Supply of vegetables in lockdown
In the lockdown during the Corona epidemic, the women of the group supplied vegetables to most of the quarantine centers in the district as well as sold them at the vegetable market in Kawardha city. The total business done by all the five groups together is Rs 2,36,376. Out of this, the group earned a net income of Rs 1,63,876, which is continuing in the current season as well. In this season okra and black rice are being cultivated by the women’s group. Black rice is beneficial for diabetics. For this reason women are engaged in the production of this rice.
