Jonas Vingegaard is the king of the Tour de France: he takes off Pogacar in the Pyrenees, wins the stage and mortgages the victory in Paris

The king is Jonas Vingegaard. The last uphill arrival of the Tour de France on the alert of Hautacam issued his verdict: the yellow jersey is from the Dane. Nothing could Tadej Pogacar that fearless has tried since Col du Spandellesshooting repeatedly to try to exhaust the stamina of the runner of the Jumbo-Visma. But the master of the Grand Boucle he did not yield even a meter and on the last ascent at 4km from the finish he has detached the rival, flying away to the success of stage and sewing the yellow jersey.

Another stage spectacular the 18th of the French race: a large escape animated the first part of the fraction, with Wout Van Aert who was the absolute protagonist. The green jersey greeted all fellow adventurers from the Col du Spandelles. The only ones a resist it in the wake have been Thibaut Pinot And Daniel Martinez. Right on the penultimate ascent of the day Pogacar tried to overturn there Grand Boucle attacking with force Vingegaard who, however, has always responded present. In the descent here is the most beautiful gesture of this Tour de France. Initially the Dane in a curve to the left skidded and risked falling, shortly after always on a left-hand bend the Slovenian is ended up on the ground. The yellow jersey noticing what happened has waited the opponent who once reached up again the colleague has him shook hands, demonstrating the loyalty he was born in respect between two.

At that point, Pogacar decided to slow down by favoring the return of the comrades of Vingegaard and of Geraint Thomas. Meanwhile, Van Aert continued to put on a show at the head of the race sowing first Pinot and then also Martinez, until the moment when he was taken over by his teammate Sepp Kuss from which he immediately collected the witness. The Belgian gave up his last energies paving the road to Vingegaard’s triumph. His rhythm swing was fatal also for Pogacar who had to raise the white flag. A real triumph for the hornets and for Vingegaard who crossed the finish line with 1’04 “ from benefit on the two-time Tour winner. Now the Dane has 3’26 “ ahead of Pogacar, with third and now sure of the podium in Paris Thomas at 8 minutes. Now all that remains is one last difficulty in this Tour de France: the individual time trial on Saturday 24 July from Lacapelle-Marival to Rocamadour of 40.7 km which, however, cannot in any way revolutionize a now defined ranking.
