Let us tell you that the company had said during its Annual General Meeting (AGM 2021) that the name of India’s cheap 4G phone will be Jiophone Next and it will be launched on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi. The press release issued by the company states that the smartphone is currently in advanced trials and will be rolled out before Diwali 2021. Diwali is on 4th November.
JioPhone Next is being prepared jointly by Reliance Jio and Google. This is an ultra-affordable smartphone that was supposed to launch today, according to the new update, it will now be launched around Diwali. The main reason behind the delay in the announcement of JioPhone Next price and delivery plans seems to be related to the global semiconductor shortage. This additional time will also help bridge the current industry-wide, global semiconductor shortage, the company noted in its announcement.

Reliance Jio had announced a September 10 launch date for the phone in June and said that it has been developed in collaboration with Google. According to leaks, it could come with a 5.5-inch display, Qualcomm QM215 SoC and 2,500mAh battery, dual-SIM support and 2GB or 3GB RAM options as well as 16GB or 32GB storage options. However, the company has not yet confirmed these features.
