Candidate for reelection, Jair Bolsonaro turned back and will give an interview to the “Jornal Nacional”. The president’s adviser informed Globo, on the morning of this Friday (5), that he decided to attend the station’s studios in Rio de Janeiro and clarified that Bolsonaro only expressed a preference for realization at Palácio da Alvorada.
In an email sent late Thursday night (4), the advisory expressed the willingness of Jair Bolsonaro to grant the interview, but at Alvorada, claiming that “due to the campaign and commitments made previously, the presidential agenda makes it impossible to go to RJ on August 22”.
As the rules, announced several times, provided for the holding of the “g1”, “GloboNews” and “JN” interviews at the station’s studios, Globo reiterated that the interview could not be held in Brasília and considered that the invitation had been refused.
On Friday morning (5), however, the advisory explained that the e-mail was only intended to express a preference, but that the candidate did not refuse to go to Rio de Janeiro for the interview. Therefore, Globo confirmed Jair Bolsonaro’s interview on the 22nd in Rio de Janeiro. All other candidates also accepted the rules.
