It’s not Michael Myers: another character is voted the scariest in horror

When you think about the horror genre, many characters may come to your mind. One of the main ones is Michael Myers, the main antagonist of the Halloween franchise.

Michael Myers might seem like a very “basic” character these days, but absolutely everything about him is iconic.

The character popularized traits that would become horror hits. But he’s not at the top of a list of Ranker’s scariest characters.

In fact, Michael Myers is only in sixth place on the list. That’s because the first place is… Leatherface, from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise.

Leatherface appears at the top of the list

Leatherface is certainly also an iconic character within horror, as much as the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise has gone through its ups and downs (more lows than highs).

The second place on the list is Freddy Krueger, the villain of the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. Robert Englund played the character in a brilliant and remarkable way, making him one of the most bizarre and unforgettable in horror.

As for Michael Myers, he will be back in Halloween Ends, which hits theaters on October 13, 2022.
