The Cité des sciences et de l’industrie takes us on a discovery of the evolution of industry through a succession of sensitive and emotional, sound and visual experiences. Come and reflect on the new industrial world and its impact on the planet with the educational exhibition: “Industrial Evolutions” offered until March 25, 2023.

At the Cité des sciences, through a new exposurewe see changing landscapes, arms raging, machines working. No, this is not a retrospective of the Terminator saga, but rather the backdrop of the exhibition Industrial Evolutions until March 25, 2023. Around the facilities artistic and educationalwe wonder about a industry always going further, always faster.

Here, we are not talking about revolution, but aboutevolution. Take the time to stroll through the seven so-called “capsule” rooms. We find everyday objects from transformed materials: the tin can, the cotton T-shirt, the washing machine, the contraceptive pill, the drone, the smartphone and energy.

Walking through the exhibition, we travel in sound and light from “Foug au Cloud”. Then place in the “transformation” where we discover the gigantism of the production chains. Of the projections tell the story around the themes “transformed landscapes”, “normalization”, “worker figures”, “networks”.

Further on, Elon Musk, the boss of the car manufacturer Tesla, talks with the critic of the industrialist Ivan Ilitch, in a virtual debate, moderated by René Descartes and Francis Bacon. Researchers from the School of Advanced Studies in Social Sciences (EHESS) and industrial metallurgists (UIMM) are the partners of this event.

The Industrial Evolution exhibition ends with a “curtain rise” on this new hyper-industrial world which highlights the gigantic and invisible digital infrastructures: satellites, submarine cables, data centers.

An exhibition exciting, which will leave no one indifferent. Thank you for raising awareness, signed LA PLANÈTE!

As a reminder, the City of Science and Industry is one of the leading science museums in Europe. It is the ideal place for a cultural outing with the family, take advantage of your visit to La Villette to go to the exhibitions: Fragile! Banquet, E-LAB, the Cité des enfants or even Robots!
