Dengue Fever: The second wave of corona has not even ended in the country and dengue fever has started showing its effect in many states including Uttar Pradesh. In UP, a lot of deaths are taking place due to dengue fever in the last 15 days. Among these too, its effect is mainly visible in Firozabad, Agra and Mathura. At the same time, ICMR Director General Dr Balram Bhargava said that the tests of children and adults who died of dengue fever have shown that Den 2 variant of dengue has been found in them. He warned that the D2 strain of dengue can cause a life-threatening haemorrhage. That’s why he advised that as soon as someone has fever, he should immediately go to the doctor and get him checked.

What are its symptoms?

According to doctors, the initial symptoms of D2 variant of dengue include high fever, drop in platelets in the body, hemorrhagic fever, organ failure and dengue shock syndrome. Experts claim that the viral serotype is curable in 99 percent of the cases, provided proper care is taken of the patient. NITI Aayog member Dr VK Paul also told that the treatment of D2 is possible. For this the most important thing is to reach the hospital in time. Even if there is a normal fever, go to the hospital without delay.

These days the effect of dengue and viral fever is being seen in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. It is a matter of concern that this year the number of children among the patients is slightly higher. Recently, dengue had wreaked havoc in Delhi as well. It is believed that the outbreak that is being seen in Uttar Pradesh at present is due to D2.
