‘Hereditary’ director’s new film will be R-rated for ‘extreme violence and graphic nudity’

Beau is Afraid‘, new film from acclaimed filmmaker Ari Aster (‘Hereditary’ and ‘Midsommar’), received a high age rating (R), and can only be watched by adults.

The film was classified by the MPA for “extreme violence, sexual content, graphic nudity, drug use and language”.

Unlike the filmmaker’s previous productions, ‘Beau is Afraid‘ is not a horror movie. The film is described as a “comedy full of nightmares”.

Diamond Films announced the acquisition of the film by the renowned A24, still untitled in Portuguese.

The premiere takes place in April, in Brazil and the USA.
