Heino Hansen host of ‘Danish Melodi Grand Prix’ 2023

Heino Hansen jumps out as grand prix host.

DR has just revealed the hosts for ‘Danish Melodi Grand Prix 2023’, which next year will be held on 11 February in Næstved’s cultural center ‘Næstved Arena’.

The choice fell on stand-up comedian Heino Hansen and DR host Tina Müller.

While the latter has hosted the last two grand prix, this will be Heino Hansen’s debut.

“I’m really looking forward to hosting ‘Danish Melodi Grand Prix’. And then on my own home turf in Næstved, it couldn’t be better,” reads a press release from the 38-year-old comedian, who was born and raised in Næstved.

For Heino Hansen, the hosting job follows an appointment as ‘comedian of the year’ at the ‘Zulu Comedy Gala’ back in September.

In addition, he has just performed for Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary at the awarding of the Crown Prince Couple’s awards last weekend, and now he must try his hand as a TV host.

Heino Hansen replaces Martin Brygmann, who was Tina Müller’s co-host in 2022 and 2021, when the show was recorded respectively in the Jyske Bank Box in Herning and in DR Byen in Copenhagen.

It is the first time that Næstved will be the host city for a melody grand prix.
