The actress Halle Berry made her first film as a director with “Bruised”. She is grateful for that.

In a few days, “Bruised” will be the first Netflix film to be directed by Hollywood star Halle Berry (55). Even in the run-up to the release, the American, who has been in front of the film camera since the early 1990s, is extremely grateful and delighted with her debut.

Berry published several older pictures on Instagram and explained: “Who would have thought that this girl would one day direct her own film …” She also used the hashtag #grateful.

The streaming service will also be showing Berry’s MMA drama “Bruised” in Germany from November 24th. The 55-year-old not only directed, but also starred in the film as the fighter Jackie Justice. It was originally announced in September 2018 that the actress would take on this dual role in the production. At Berry’s side are Adriane Lenox (65), Sheila Atim (30), Valentina Shevchenko (33) and Stephen McKinley Henderson (72).

“Bruised” tells the story of the disgraced Jackie, who withdraws from the sporting world and years later takes part in an illegal fight. A promoter of a fighting league sees her and wants to bring Jackie back, but suddenly her son Manny appears, whom she had given up when he was still a baby.
