Gujarat News Bhupendra Patel meets Governor will take oath as Chief Minister on Monday afternoon

Bhupendra Patel’s name has surfaced for the new chief minister’s post in the legislature party meeting at the party’s headquarters in Gandhinagar. Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has announced the name of Bhupendra Patel. Earlier in the legislature party meeting, former CM Vijay Rupani had proposed the name of Bhupendra Patel for the chief minister’s post. According to news agency ANI, Bhupendra Patel will take oath as CM on Monday at 2 pm. Rupani (65), the fourth chief minister to step down in BJP-ruled states during the coronavirus pandemic, was sworn in as chief minister in December 2017. Soon after Rupani’s resignation was announced, BJP general secretary (organisation) BL Santosh and Gujarat state unit in-charge Bhupendra Yadav met party functionaries. Union Parliamentary Affairs Ministers Prahlad Joshi and Narendra Singh Tomar have been made central observers. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani submitted his resignation to Governor Acharya Devvrat about a year and a half before the assembly elections in the state. Elections to the 182-member Gujarat assembly are to be held in December 2022.
