Great Marvel responsibility: He is the most important MCU star in the coming years

The MCU has big plans for the coming years and wants to present an even bigger star roster than in previous years. But above all, it depends on an actor.

After several months of ambiguity, it is now certain: The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is officially in the middle of the Multiverse saga and will present two major new event films with “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” and “Avengers: Secret Wars”. They should easily trump “Avengers: Endgame”, simply because they are likely to bring together significantly more Marvel heroes than ever before. This was announced by Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios and COO of Marvel Entertainment.

In addition, after all the MCU revelations, he also revealed who bears a particularly high responsibility in the Multiverse saga. Marvel fans shouldn’t be surprised that it’s about Jonathan Majors acts, whom we first got to know in the “Loki” finale as the one who stays, but who in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania finally as the new main villain Kan the Conqueror enters the stage. It’s no coincidence that “Avengers 5” bears his name in the official title. However, Feige is certain that he is entrusting the right man with this task, as he did in an interview with Phase ZeroComicbook.com’s interview YouTube channel, revealed:

“I would rather dump the Multiverse saga on anyone’s shoulders than on his. It’s really impressive what Jonathan Majors is able to do. And all of his different incarnations of Kang, variants if you will, that we’re going to see of him. It’s actually pretty cool.”

This is how Kang will differ from Thanos

Majors has big shoes to fill, after all he is the successor to Thanos (Josh Brolin), who was the villain in the previous Infinity saga, as a time-traveling multiverse villain. So not only does he have to more or less connect practically all titles of the MCU phases 4 to 6, which is significantly more than in the Infinity saga, but also come close to the mad titan in terms of popularity and, of course, threat.

However, Feige seems confident that Jonathan Majors is up to the task, and his “Loki” performance (not to mention other performances in movies like “The Harder They Fall” and “Da 5 Bloods”) have already proven that he is is an excellent actor. It should also be hopeful that Kang will not become a Thanos copy, or as Kevin Feige put it:

“It’s not just that there’s a bigger purple guy with a helmet now. That’s not Kang. Kang is a distinctly different type of villain and the fact that he’s many, many different characters is what’s most exciting and what differentiates him the most.”

So it looks like we’re really going to see multiple versions of Kang, and each one of them should be a formidable opponent. But when several of them band together and cause chaos in a number of dimensions and time planes, the Avengers truly face a special threat. If the MCU multiverse confuses you, our video will surely help you:

Especially since it could also be that, unlike in the Marvel comics, Kang is responsible for “Secret Wars” (you can simply treat yourself to the popular comic at Amazon). In the last iteration of this event, Doctor Doom made for a multiverse spectacle, and that role could now fall to the villain played by Jonathan Majors. Although Doom could take the stage in the forthcoming “Fantastic Four”, but even then such an important part for him in the actually Kang-dominated Multiverse saga might come too early.

We will have certainty by 2025 at the latest: “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” will start in US cinemas on May 2, 2025, “Avengers: Secret Wars” on November 7, 2025. The German cinema releases are likely to be two days earlier.
