Melodi Grand Prix star Morten Phillipsen has got married

Morten Phillipsen does not think that Chilie Orloff is like the other girls. The couple got married in Småland in Sweden in the parents’ summer house, surrounded by family and friends.

“It was so beautiful. We were married in a field with stone dykes, where sheep normally go,’ the newly married musician tells BT

Morten Phillipsen’s friends from the band, ‘The Grenadines’, played the song ‘Moon River’ while the wedding was going on.

After the wedding, the party with the 75 guests moved on to a banquet hall, where the theme was the Swedish crayfish feast with long tables and home-brewed schnapps.

In many ways, the wedding was a little atypical, because Cilie Orloff and Morten Fillipsen practiced the bridal waltz just an hour before the actual dance.

“The home-brewed schnapps gave us a little extra courage, but I think it went really well,” says the former MGP star and current musician in ‘The Grenadines’.

However, the honeymoon has not yet been fully planned, so the couple will have to wait a bit.

But both Chilie Orloff and Morten Phillipsen dream of seeing the world, and New Zealand in particular attracts.

“We got a lot of euros and gift cards for, among other things, Scouting, and then we’ll have to see when we leave. At least we took a canoe trip in Sweden as a kind of small honeymoon before the big one,” reports Morten Fillipsen.

In 2002, Morten Fillipsen got second place in the children’s MGP with the song ‘Du iikke som de andre pi’r’, but had to see himself beaten by Razz.

In the meantime, Morten Fillipsen has made a career as a soloist and with the band ‘The Grenadines’ and then in March 2022 he participated in the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix with the song ‘Happy Go Lucky’.
