‘Gavião Arqueiro’: Director reveals which CHRISTMAS films served as inspiration for the series

Since the 1st trailer for ‘Archer hawk‘, the series has been compared to the movie ‘Hard to Kill‘, by Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) running away from bad guys in New York City over Christmas.

A plot similar to the movie starring Bruce Willis, interpreter of the iconic John McClane.

During an interview with the Comic Book, the director of ‘Hawk’s Hawk’, Rhys Thomas, broached the subject and agreed with the comparisons.

He even said that ‘Hard to Kill‘ was the main inspiration for the series.

However, he also said that other Christmas classics could be added to the list.

“People have told me that the show is very reminiscent ‘Hard to Kill‘, and it’s true because that movie was my main inspiration. But I can’t forget ‘They forgot me‘, both 1 and 2, there are also references to ‘Gremlins‘…”

“I’m the kind of person who likes to pay tribute to other productions, regardless of whether there is a direct reference or not, I accept any excuse to probe my cultural memory and spread elements of classical works in my productions.”

Apparently, the series is a mix of Christmas movies from the 80s and 90s, now it remains to be seen which and how many references will be hidden in the plot.
