Furiosa: First Look at Anya Taylor-Joy in the Prequel to "Mad Max Fury Road"

After Chris Hemsworth, Anya Taylor-Joy was in turn photographed on the set of “Furiosa”, the prequel to “Mad Max: Fury Road”. On these shots, a detail reveals an important element about the heroine.

Furiosa : before Mad Max – Fury Road

In 2015, George Miller finds the emblematic protagonist of his filmography, now played by Tom Hardy, with Mad Max: Fury Road. An electrifying and brutal feature film, which multiplies the prowess of staging and editing, and introduces a new, ultra-charismatic character who immediately imposes himself as Max Rockatansky’s alter ego and the real heroine : Furiosa.

After freeing Immortan Joe’s slaves by teaming up with the Road Warrior on a chaotic desert chase, the Imperator will soon be back in a prequel, still orchestrated by George Miller. With this film, Furiosa in turn changes her face since it is the excellent Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch, The Queen’s Game) who succeeds Charlize Theron.

A few weeks ago, set photos suggested that Chris Hemsworth could interpret Immortan Joe after the late Hugh Keays-Byrne, given his look similar to that of the great villain of Fury Road. It’s now Anya Taylor-Joy’s turn to reveal herself in photos. The green glove she wears reveals that Furiosa has already lost his left forearmat least during part of the feature film.

A clash between two tyrants

The synopsis was unveiled last June and announces that Furiosa will fight to survive and will find herself embroiled in spite of herself in a confrontation between two tyrants:

As the world crumbles, young Furiosa is kidnapped from the Green Land of the Many Mothers, and falls into the hands of a horde of bikers led by the warlord Dementus. Traveling through the Wasteland, they come to the Citadel ruled by Immortan Joe. As the two tyrants clash, Furiosa must survive many hardships and find her way home by any means possible.
