By-elections to the Bhawanipur assembly seat of West Bengal are going to be held on September 30. It is the traditional seat of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. BJP’s candidate Priyanka Tibrewal is in the fray against him. Trinamool Congress leader Firhad Hakim has called Priyanka Tibrewal a child in front of Mamta. On Sunday, a war of words broke out between Hakim and Tibrewal.
Tibrewal had joined BJP a few years back. He had to face defeat from Intali seat in the assembly elections held earlier this year. She is a lawyer by profession, who took the cases of attacks on her party workers to the court after the assembly elections. Regarding Hakim’s remark, Tibrewal said, “A girl child does not remain a child forever. The girl child is now grown up to face the challenges. Certainly my rival Mamata Banerjee and her party campaigner Firhad Hakim are much older than me, but I have come here to fight the battle to protect democracy and save people from the terror of Trinamool Congress.

No senior BJP leader is ready to contest by-election against Mamata Banerjee in Bhawanipur, they have put this girl forward in the battle field. He taunted and said, ‘My sympathies go out to Priyanka Tibrewal, who will face a huge defeat. But can’t help them because Mamata Banerjee is in the hearts of the people of Bhawanipur.
